Best of Care respects and upholds individuals' rights to privacy protection under the National Privacy Principles contained in the Privacy Amendment (Private Sector) Act 2000. The Privacy Policy describes how we manage any personal and/or sensitive information we have about you.

Best of Care may hold the following information about you:

- Occupation
- Health information
- General Practitioner details
- Details of person who referred you
- Name and phone numbers of immediate family members
- Names of other services you use
- Details associated with services we have provided to you
- Any additional information provided to us by you or referring agencies
- Any information you provided to us through service satisfaction surveys
What does Best of Care do with my personal information?
This personal information about you may be used to:
- Provide care and other support to you.
- Assist and support our staff in providing services and care to you.
- Provide feedback to your family members who may be in a caring role
on whether the service is satisfactory.
- Assist with any calls you make to us.
- Assist our internal administrative requirements.
- Provide information to community services and health workers who provide
necessary follow up and ongoing services.
- Report to Government and other funding bodies in a form that will not
identify individuals.
And only with your consent:
- To communicate promotional offers and special events.
- For fundraising.
- For direct mailing.
- For service planning.
- For research and development.
Best of Care will not disclose personal information about individuals to any person except when:
a. you have consented to the disclosure
b. the secondary purpose is related to the primary purpose (for which
the information was collected) and a person would reasonably expect such
use or disclosure
c. the use is for direct mailing in specified circumstances
d. it is required by Commonwealth/State legislation or in circumstances
related to public interest or public or individual health and safety.
Individuals may at any time opt out of receiving any communications from Best of Care other than as required for the operation of our services.
OPENNESS
You are entitled to have access to personal information that Best of Care has collected about you and request they be amended where applicable.
